Martin Persaud is a Director, AI & Technology Transformation at Verto Inc. Martin brings 6 years of experience, specifically tackling digital health challenges across Canada, the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.
Martin has experience planning for and implementing patient and provider facing solutions as well as interoperability specifications to drive access to care and data. Martin worked with system-level architects to map the appropriate workflows, experiences, and flow of patient information to enhance health outcomes.
His focus is primarily on the development of AI solutions that can be leveraged to (i) facilitate health data integration; and (ii) improve the way providers, administrators use data to make informed decisions at various levels. Currently, he is leading the development of language models that are interpretable and generate consumable patient data for all stakeholders.
Dr. Payal Agarwal is a family physician and the Integrated Chief Medical Information Officer at Grand River and St. Mary’s General Hospitals. She is a seasoned digital health leader, having worked with multiple startups, hospitals and governments to design and implement high impact digital health tools. She also runs an active research program focused on digital health and virtual care. She completed her master's degree in health services research from the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto and has an undergraduate degree in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
Ryan MacDonald is the Director of Health AI Implementation at the Vector Institute, one of Canada’s 3 national institutes dedicated to research and application in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). Ryan and his team work closely with healthcare institutions and providers to enable health AI deployment in order to improve patient outcomes and care delivery. Before joining Vector, Ryan worked as a Senior Manager in KPMG’s Healthcare practice in management consulting focused on transformation in the health and social care space. Ryan has led teams supporting system wide digital and operational transformation in Canada, the United States and the Caribbean. Ryan has a Master of Public Policy from the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto and has gone on to do certifications at Cornell University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in data analytics and artificial intelligence.More to come
