Dr Michael Schweigert

Occupational Medicine Specialist

Dr. Michael Schweigert is a highly regarded occupational medicine specialist based in Toronto with over 30 years of experience in the field. He obtained his medical training from the University of Toronto, is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and has an MBA from the University of Toronto. In addition, he has a BASc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, reflecting his strong foundation in both medicine and engineering. Dr. Schweigert’s expertise encompasses disability management, quality assurance, and impairment assessment. His clinical focus is on fitness-for-duty evaluations, particularly in law enforcement, energy, and manufacturing. 

Dr. Schweigert has held leadership roles throughout his career, including serving as the Founding President of the Occupational Medicine Specialists of Canada and as the former Chair of the Specialty Committee in Occupational Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is also medical advisor for several large organizations, including the Toronto Police Service, Ontario Provincial Police and Ontario Power Generation. Known for his evidence-based approach, Dr. Schweigert is dedicated to advancing occupational health and improving disability management strategies.
