Gavin Pokan

A leader with a unique perspective, Gavin Pokan has over 25 years of experience serving in areas across the WSIB – giving him an intimate understanding of the different facets of the organization. In his current role, he is responsible for oversight of the Operations cluster, which includes all aspects of claims management and service. 

Gavin began his career at the WSIB as an adjudicator, working directly with people who have experienced a workplace injury or illness in the management of their claims. He has taken on various roles across the organization including spearheading the development and implementation of online solutions as well as taking on a leadership role in Employer Account Services where he was able to work closely with businesses to understand their needs, as well as trends and gaps in the workforce.  
Previously serving as Senior Director, Issues Management, Planning and Analysis and Advisor to the President and CEO, Gavin applies the depth of knowledge gained working with injured and ill people, as well as businesses to strengthen the service they receive today. 

Gavin has completed both a Certificate in Strategic Leadership and Innovation: Managing the New Organization for Growth from the Executive Education Centre Schulich School of Business and the Ivey Executive Program at the Ivey Academy. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
