Dr. Giddens currently maintains an academic hospital psychiatric practice at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto, Canada and Trillium Health Partners Insight Health Solutions supporting clients with IMEs and clinical programming and consultation including the WSIB First Responder Mental Health Program.
She has a Master of Science degree in Psychodynamic Developmental Neuroscience from University College of London and a postgraduate fellowship from Yale University.
Dr. Giddens has published numerous academic papers in psychiatry that have been published in peer-reviewed journals as well as presented works at conferences around the world in psychiatry and addictions. She started her career in occupational psychiatry by working with Google Canada on their suicide prevention strategy.
She has acted as an expert witness since 2017 and an arbitrator for Morneau Shepell and Canada Post on their disability claims. Most recently, Dr. Giddens is responsible for co-authoring the latest Railway Association Updated Handbook Guidelines Section on Substance Use and will be completing the updated guidelines on mental health.
Dr. Giddens conduct independent medical examinations, where she does assessments for organizations such as WSIB, CMPA, CPSO, Enbridge, Shell, the Federal and Provincial Government.
